Large-scale location analysis to aid business critical decision making

Challenge

After the expansion of The Cooperative’s food operation by buying circa 900 Somerfield stores, they needed a plan to help them cope with the expansion of their increased workload. The process implemented was designed to make the Cooperative Retail Location Analysis team more efficient, speed up planning processes, and aid decision making.

Solution

It was vital that the new solution was compatible with The Cooperative’s existing systems, Experian Micro-marketer Generation3 (MMg3) and a series of databases. The solution also had to be able to handle large datasets and produce high quality analysis on a large scale.
