In a piece of Experian research, we surveyed more than 400 HR professionals from a wide variety of sectors about the level of automation involved in their candidate onboarding processes.
Just 2% reported that most of their onboarding was automated, while 39% said their process was not automated at all.
“What is an onboarding process? Onboarding is a process that introduces new employees to an organisation and its culture.” – ibm.com
The benefits of automation are clear. Not only is it a valuable way to reduce pressure on internal teams, but it can speed up processes, reduce the risks of human error and allows your HR resource to be completely focused on the areas of the onboarding process where they can add the most value and create a positive first impression of your organisation. Pre-employment screening is one aspect of the HR onboarding process that can be easily automated and managed, saving you time and money.
Experian’s pre-employment screening checks are offered in solutions to best suit your business. From a fully-managed service where we do all of the work for you, to an API integration route that combines our systems with yours, or you can even process the checks yourself using our online system.
With a focus on saving time both for you and your candidates, the character recognition technology in our Right to Work check app captures biographical data to auto-populate fields, meaning that the majority of checks can be automatically approved. Facial recognition and document validation also provide extra peace of mind and make the app easy and fast to use.
Creating an onboarding process that is both fast and efficient, will help to make your business stand out from the crowd. This can easily be achieved through the use of automation and as the results of our survey show, there’s huge potential for more companies to make better use of it.
